Ummm, well, ready.....

I just sold my only working vehicle!

I'm picking up my new van on friday... it has no engine...

I have to find, buyt, and fit an engine, and get it running nice, in under 3 weeks..

OH GOD!!!

i'm all ready, but then again i'm not driving. going in my mates 72 crossover. i've got to work on the thurday so we're heading straight down to the port after work. we'll be catching the close-to-midnight crossing if anyone is going a bit later than the 4 am thursday.

anyone thats doing the silly am ferry will prob want to know this

its 235 miles to dover - thats the biggest part of the journey!

if we average 55mph on the motorway - which is a bit optomistic that will take us close to

almost 4 1/2 hours of driving!

i how ever have to stop at least 3 times for petrol on a run that big as my fuel tank is smaller than my bladder!

so call each stop 30 minutes after everyones pee'd smoked faffed around, fixed any issues and allowing for a break down or 2 im guessing the journey to dover will take around 7 hours!!!

i propose this!

the wednesday is the first day of the month so a club meeting is in order - how about we meet in the usual place get our last meal in the diff and head out from the monkey tree?

we would be looking at getting ont he road at around 7:30 mind - and as this would be the case we should get a nice chunk of the road done before it gets dark!

im up for a relaxed drive up to the port stopping often to refuel and wake my ass up as my seats are crap too!

how does that sound for a plan then?

sounds good mate, leaving earlier than i thought but havent looked into it...... my usual plan is to think about the trip the night before Rolling Eyes . Me and Jo are both off on the Weds so should'nt be a problem meeting up for some grub before we leave.

i think its not a case of leaving early - but getting there in plenty of time

we really dont want to miss the ferry or be fucked around with time

and this way we can be sure to have a nice chilled drive down and get plenty of stops in Smile

any chance i can throw my tent in the back of the van? hows it handling now with the steering rack dude?

if i could do it again mate i would have left it as it was, to me it feels like it drove before.

im hoping it just a case of everything bedding in as it had dropped spindles put on at the same time.

just praying for dry wether as dont fancy leaking safaries for 300 miles.

depending on how much crap we end up packing the tent should'nt be a problem.

cool Smile

if its dry it shouldnt be a problem me taking it - if its wet thats a different story hence us leaving so early as well - my car doesnt like paint - cats eyes or drains in the dry

in the wet its lethal!
