| well not quite just straight in hehe. but relatively easy though. they fit straight onto the standard gearbox. then cut the engine bay away, find somewhere underneath to mout an oil cooler, move the battery somewhere else so you can mount the oil tank, and have some brakets made up to mount fuel filter, accumulator etc. o ye and then put a return line to fuel tank. off up there on wednesday morning now on my way back fro the rents. i'm off to the show in belgium too, but in my mates bus. if he has a baywindow it may be worth him looking on Earlybay.com as there are a few good restos on there. | so i now have a sliding door. it cost the earth but its pretty damn straight. few bits of surface rust but the bodyshop is happy with it. i just need to get the catches and hinges up to the bodyshop on monday so they can really hit it hard again. ok so i now have one or two wires that should be enough for wiring out the camper when i get it back from the bodyshop: i have tried to stick to OG colours to make my life easier. but we will see... |

| so a little bit of progress off at the end of last week. the rear cargo floor has been prepped and drilled for spot welds - not going to have as many spot welds holding the floor on the tophats or I beams as stock. also the sliding door sills have now been tacked in place too: the rear corners had been taken off to sort out the metal work beneath, before it had a coat of paint and the corners welded on: also, i couldnt help myself to a sneeky pic of the rear discs: off up there gain on friday when i'm hoping to see some more bits welded in... |

| A bit more progress: dirvers rear wheel arch welded fully: good join between arch and middle panel and original: rear corner O/S fully in place: inside the rear corner: other rear corner, they have lined up the battery tray: inner arches also welded in: the arches have been spot welded but also stitched for strength other area have been fully welded like the sliding door sills. the battery tray is being mocve down so it is inline with the bottom of the chassis rails and this will allow enough space for my spare wheel well to be converted into a battery tray for my liesure battery. we've heard it all before but its meant to be finished at the end of next week. a fair bit to do so i will see it when i believe it. so guys what you think??? NaFe Mark, I should be getting the bus back at the end of this week to take some pictures. if you can email me on zulu_monkey@hotmail.com, i can send you over some pics of what nelly sent me when i was thinking of doing the work out myself. | it SHOULD have been finished again by this evening, but not quite - almost there now. i have told the bodyshop guy that it is being collected on thursday evening so has to be done by then. ok so the progress they have made: floor is welded in, the wheel arhes and the webbing of the rear quarter panels have been made up and tacked in place. the two rear corners are now welded fully. the outer wheel arches are welded fully. replaced old gusset at top of b pillar battery tray lowered down to make room for two batteries: new gussets at edge of engine bay and patch made up for fuel tank shelf: attention has started around the sliding track area area. i'm not too sure how good this will look in all honesty, but i have been told it will look good: the engine is being taken down on wednesday and collection is planned for thursday. i bloody hope he sticks to it - getting peeved off now NaFe |

| so the van is back!!!!!!!!!! overall really pleased with all the gaps on initial inspection. however, there do seem to be one or two gash bits that i will have to redo how i want it and the sprayshop may have some extra work to do. i'm now really considering having the thing acid dipped and then e-coated in paint but surfaceprocessing up in dudly. trouble is its £945+VAT for acid dip, and then £945+VAT for paint dip. so about £2200 for the both - then there is the cost of the work that is discovered after dip anyway a couple of pics - more to follow over the weekend: |
