engine swop

i am thinking of taken the ghia off the road until i can afford to do the work i would like to do to her.

is there any reason why the engine and gearbox out of the ghia would not fit in my splitty as i am thinking of running it in the bus for the show season next year?.

and does anyone fancy giving me a hand one sunday?
can provide beer and bacon butty's.

No reason why the engine wont fit straight in might be a little bit of different wiring, but all easy stuff

Gearbox, is the splitty swing axle(straight axle kit) or is it IRS'd? if it's IRS'd i think you need an IRS specific gearbox, but if it's the same as the ghia, you'll need to change the nosecone at most (2min job)

wiring will be a piece of piss - its only really the alternator that needs to be sorted - internal or external reg

it all depends on how mattys said - if the bus has been IRS'd

i take it the ghia is still swingaxle

no 2 minute job takes 2 minutes just like 6 month resto takes 5 years

well if ghia is swing axle and van is straight axle it shoyuld just be a simple swap other than the nosecone as i said
